This was a pretty incredible day. I arrived while campaign pledges were still being etched into the steps with pressure hoses and witnessed hundreds upon hundreds of people show up to show their support.

The location had also been booked by a local school orchestra who were performing directly after this event and so I managed to gain a unique vantage point to film Nicola Sturgeons speech as the school allowed me to film from where they were setting up while shooing away the mainstream press. Thanks Guys!

The video of the speech itself was not intended to be used but Ross (The SNP Engagement Strategist) felt it was more powerful than the piece to camera and we ran about coffee shops trying to find decent wifi for him to upload it.

The piece to camera was one of those moments where I was glad for my light camera setup. Nicola had been lost to a world of selfies with her supporters and time was running very short for us to get her piece. In the end I was pushed through into a tiny gap her team had managed to make and we did it straight to camera surrounded by what felt like a thousand eyes upon us. A couple of minutes later she was in her car and away. I definitely couldn't have gotten the shot that day if it hadn't of been for my Monopod, Sony a7s and Nicolas campaign team.
