If there's one thing I can say about garages ever since doing my highschool work experience in one, it's that I don't trust them, and I come from an entire family of mechanics on my mother's side.

 

Lanark Tyre & Exhaust Centre was very different however. In the time I spent filming there I really got to know the people who worked there. These people love cars. There was a Ford Mustang chassis getting fixed in the end bay for fun by the head mechanic and the atmosphere was just incredibly relaxed. Can you imagine giving up a quarter of your business workspace for a hobby because these guys do and I suspect in the future as they become more open to the local community with night classes in maintenance there are going to be a lot of hobby cars in their car park.

 

They even gave my car a once over and talked me through everything. I've since been back for my MOT & Service and frankly I think I'll be going back for everything else.   

 

Just talking about the promo however. LTEC were in the process of a massive rebrand and redesign and my goal with this film was to show who they are and how they were changing to be better for their customers and compete in a world of generic garages. Simply put, go here if you want a human touch.
