When Melanie Vautier & I were scouting locations for our music video 'When Your Battle's Done' we came across this Foundry (Edinburgh Cast Metals) owned & operated by Fraser Waugh. I've never met such a genuine and down to earth guy as Fraser so it was no surprise that we'd get to talking and I'd find out he had one of the most interesting untold stories to tell. He's the last man in Scotland who can make the very thing that Edinburgh was built upon, traditionally made green sand Cast Iron.

 

Being the awesome person that he is he let me film him and his foundry in action and I ended up releasing this film before the music video was done.

 

Almost 2 years after this film was made, on February 12th 2015, STV Edinburgh broadcast this film on their Fountain Bridge show and conducted a live studio interview with Fraser and myself about his craft and the video. On the same night the film was also screened as part of an exhibition held by scupltor Theo Shields at The Coopland Gallery in London. Needless to say I am quite proud that the film continues to have impact long after it was made.
